EDIT: I originally marked this 4 stars because of the plastic appearance, but after several months of flawless operation, I'm actually taking the effort to update this to 5 stars. I love this lamp!This smart table lamp works and functions great! Using the Smart Life App and IFTTT App, I setup this lamp to slowly turn on when my Alexa alarm clock wakes me up. I'd absolutely recommend this as your new night stand center piece.Controlling the Lamp Modes and On/Off-----------------------------------------------Having physical buttons directly on the lamp is VERY helpful, making it much more useful than smart bulbs that I've tried in the past. I hate having to always ask some smart voice assistant to turn off my lights. This lamp gives you the flexibility of both the physical button and using a smart assistant. (You can even set it up to do other smart things when you turn this lamp on or off. For example, when you turn this lamp off, turn off any other smart devices in the room.) Also, the big button to turn it on and off is really easy to feel for when you're trying to wake up. In my opinion, this is more convenient than having a touch button that you have to look to make sure you're touching the correct thing. The 3 smaller buttons let you change the color temperature of the white light mode, change to color mode, and start a timer to turn off the lamp after a half hour or so. It even has a dial that you can use to adjust the brightness of the lamp without having to use your phone/assistant. The buttons do feel a little too clicky, giving it a semi-cheap plastic feel. But that doesn't stop the fact that the control with the buttons is flawless and really easy to use.To control this lamp with WiFi, you can set it up with any of your smart assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant, etc...). You can then tell your assistant to turn it on or off or change modes. On the Smart Life app, you can have full control of the lamp. Turning it on and off, set different scenes ranging from reading mode to several different color changing modes, changing the brightness and color manually, and setting routines that can be triggered by specific events. I haven't had any issues with the WiFi control of the device and it only adds to the convenience and flexibility of the physical buttons.Brightness and Color------------------------It has a wide range of white light color temperature to choose from, which is great to have more of an orange color that is easy on your eyes in the morning and at night. The colors are much deeper and brighter than the smart bulb I own, allowing you to set any mood you want. The lamp also has a large range of brightness. It can light up my entire bedroom and get very dim to the point it's difficult to read.Physical Appearance------------------------When the lamp is glowing, it looks pretty awesome. It really does glow by diffusing the light really well just like a lamp shade would on a traditional lamp. Unfortunately, The physical appearance of it when the lamp is off isn't very pleasing. Because of this, I wouldn't recommend this glossy plastic looking lamp as a living room show case. But it is totally fine in less formal rooms.Summary-----------Overall, this lamp functions great and has an amazing design that is easy to use and has options to get more complex with smart features. I would give this 5 stars but because of the less formal, plastic appearance and the cheap feel of the buttons, I'm giving this 4 stars. But I wouldn't get too hung up on the appearance if you're looking for a great smart lamp for a home office or night stand.
