How To Unlock Your Inner Powers

What Are Inner Powers? Here’s How To Unlock Them

If you’ve ever heard someone talk about inner power, you might have wondered what they’re referring to. Basically, inner power can be described as your guiding force.

How does inner power affect your life?

You can’t dream big or achieve success in life if you don’t have inner power. This has sometimes been described as a state of mind that enables you to live a happy, peaceful, and more successful life on earth.

Everyone has inner power, but not everyone has been able to unlock it. Read on to find how to unleash your own inner power so you change your life.

Why Inner Powers Matter

activating your inner guiding force

You can’t unlock your inner powers if you don’t first know why they’re so important. Without activating your inner guiding force, the following can occur:

  • You don’t feel in tune with what you want and what’s right for you. Intuition is connected to your inner guiding force. It directs you to where you need to go in your life and it steers you away from situations and people who are wrong for you.
  • You allow failure to define you. Everyone fails at some point, but if you don’t define yourself according to your inner power, which is focused on resilience and strength, it can hold you back in life and spiritual growth. You won’t be living from power and strength, but instead be in a state of victimhood.
  • You don’t know your strengths and abilities. When you don’t awaken your inner power, you might give too much of your energy to the wrong things, instead of focusing on what you’re good at and what fulfills you. The latter is tied to greater success and peace and prevents you from depleting your resources.

How To Unlock Your Inner Powers

There are many important ways in which you can start living from a position of power. Here are some to add to your life.

Stop the Blame Game

live in a state of blame

When you live in a state of blame, you nurture the feeling that you’re a victim in your life. This takes your inner strength and power out of the situation, causing you to not feel you can change your circumstances.

Shake Off Negative Thoughts

If you complain a lot in your day, you’re feeling like a victim again. You’re also preventing yourself from seeing positivity around you, which is more empowering. Positive thoughts are tied to strength because love is a more powerful force than fear or negativity.

Don’t Limit Yourself To Your Personality

Don’t Limit Yourself To Your Personality

Author T. Harv Eker puts it well: “Your personality is nothing more than an egoic idea you made up as to who you’re supposed to be to survive in the world.”

For example, you might think you’re just a negative or cynical person, but using this definition throughout your life limits you and negates your power.

Often, the ideas of who we think we are get formed when we’re children, such as by our parents and the media, and this is what guides us, but it’s not who we really are.

Use Positive Affirmations

Daily affirmations help you to set your goals for the day, find inner peace, and feel positive. Say them aloud so that they feel more true. You can find guided affirmations online to help you feel motivated to make changes in your life and access your inner strength.

Return To The Present

Your mind is always trying to distract you with fears and worries, or people who have upset you, so you have to quieten it. By focusing on the present moment, you can center yourself. Mantras or concentrating on your breathing both work effectively to prevent distractions and focus on the moment.

Another exercise to try is a grounding exercise, such as one in which you notice five things around you that you can see, four things you can hear, three things you can touch, two things you can smell, and one thing you can taste. It grounds you in the moment.

Cultivate Authentic Self-Confidence

Cultivate Authentic Self-Confidence

From an egoic perspective, you can make yourself feel more confident, such as by telling yourself you’re attractive/intelligent/successful, but this is superficial confidence.

As spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle explains, self-confidence that’s better for you is the one that has direct access to your inner power. You don’t have to compare yourself to others and you can gain it immediately.

To access it, focus on yourself outside of your thinking mind, and focus on your presence that’s always there. This is where your power is located. Meditation can help you to unlock this connection to the universe.
