The Benefits of Chakra Tuning Forks

Tuning forks have historically been used to tune musical instruments. At the turn of the 20th century, people discovered that they could use these forks in holistic healing practices.

Chakra tuning forks are a powerful and effective modality for treating the mind, body, and spirit to restore inner health and balance. This article looks at the benefits of tuning forks for chakras.

What Are Tuning Forks Used For?

Like tuning forks for musical instruments, chakra tuning forks vibrate at a specific frequency, only that, in this case, you strike them on the heel of your hand.

Tuning forks work with the body’s tissues, nervous system, and even the most subtle of the body’s energies to deliver deep healing and relaxation.

The tuning forks for chakras are held by the stem instead of the prongs and are available in several different frequencies. These range from 64 Hz to 4096 Hz, with 128 Hz being the most commonly used frequency for healing.

Tuning forks for chakras has proven effective in alleviating unpleasant symptoms brought on by:

  • Chronic headaches and tension migraines
  • Chronic pain
  • Chronic stress
  • Cramps
  • Digestive issues
  • Fatigue
  • Insomnia
  • Joint aches and pain
  • Nervous system hypersensitivity
  • and many more

Aside from being an effective tool for healing, tuning forks for chakras can also be used alongside other holistic healing practices, including meditation, yoga, and massage. The sound ability to interact with the more intricate parts of the human body can help shift stagnant energies on different levels.

Keep in mind that there are two main types of tuning forks used for healing: Weighted and unweighted tuning forks.

Weighted tuning forks for chakras contain tiny weights at the tip of each prong. These are designed to generate deeper and stronger vibrations compared to their unweighted counterparts and can be used directly on the part of the body you want to treat.

As the name suggests, unweighted tuning forks don’t have these small weights on the prongs. These are used off the body and produce clear, laser-precision sound.

They are placed close to the ears, on either side of the head, or in the body’s sound energy field, and have proven effective in calming the mind and overactive nervous system. They can trigger huge emotional shifts and ease physical pain.

How Do Tuning Forks for Chakra Work?

Vibrating objects create sound waves. The sound of glass breaking, someone singing, or a musical instrument all result from sound waves generated by vibrations.

When you strike a tuning fork with your hand, a mallet, or against a solid surface, the tines vibrate several hundred times each second.

These vibrations create waves in the air that trigger powerful vibrations, which, in turn, cause air molecules around the tuning fork to smash against each other, hitting our eardrums. The human brain processes these air molecule collisions against the eardrum as soft humming sounds.

As tuning forks vibrate faster, they produce higher-pitched sounds, which allow energy pathways to open up. The body’s Qi (energy life force) flows naturally through these pathways.

Understanding the Link Between Tuning Forks and Chakras

The human body has seven main energy vortexes referred to as chakras. Each chakra is linked to specific organs and glands in the body. When using chakra tuning forks, it’s important to understand what each chakra does with regard to sound healing. Below is a list of frequencies used to stimulate the various chakras and what they do:

  • First chakra (root): This uses the 194 Hz frequency level and helps you release guilt and fear.
  • Second chakra (sacral): This uses the 210 Hz frequency level and helps with change.
  • Third chakra (solar plexus): This uses the 128 Hz frequency level and helps with transformation.
  • Fourth chakra (heart): This uses the 136 Hz frequency level and enables connections with others.
  • Fifth chakra (throat): This uses the 141 Hz frequency level and helps with expression and problem-solving.
  • Sixth chakra (third eye): This uses the 221 Hz frequency level and awakens the intuition.
  • Seventh chakra (crown): This uses the 174 Hz frequency level and helps you connect with the universe.

Using chakra tuning forks is meant to restore balance and help energy flow better throughout your body. While it is easier to use the tuning forks while lying down, it doesn’t always have to be the case.

Benefits of Chakra Tuning Forks

Several benefits come with using chakra tuning forks for healing. For starters, it helps reset the body’s natural internal clock, also called the circadian rhythm. It is especially useful for individuals with difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep.

Additionally, chakra tuning forks have been known to stimulate homeostasis, bringing the body back to a state of natural balance. It activates Qi, so that life force energy can flow throughout the body without any hindrance by attuning the body’s cellular vibrations.

The forks also balance the nervous system to improve cognitive function by realigning the left and right sides of the brain. Moreover, they help in the repair of the human body’s DNA structure while reducing inflammation, chronic stress and anxiety, muscle aches, and digestive issues.

Sound healing using chakra tuning forks is possible due to the fact that human bodies are not solid. Most of your body is made up of water, which happens to be an excellent sound conductor.

For context, think about how you feel when you go to a concert. You can quite literally feel the music vibration in your chest. Everything in the universe is made up of energy vibration. That’s why you can instinctively feel when something in your body is out of whack.

Tuning forks help you synchronize your body’s natural cycles, allowing you to find balance or “homeostasis.” It is a fundamental part of healing the body, mind, and spirit.

How to Use Chakra Tuning Forks for Healing

Weighted and unweighted tuning forks can help correct imbalances and even help you learn how to attract and project positive vibrations. That way, you strengthen the electromagnetic field around you to better equip yourself to handle whatever curveballs life throws.

You can use a chakra tuning fork at home or have a professional sound therapist do it. Whatever option you choose, there are a few things you need to keep in mind to get the best results from your session.

  • While you can have a healing session while seated, it is always better to lie down to ensure you’re fully relaxed before you begin.
  • Weighted tuning forks are struck before being placed directly over problematic areas of your body.
  • Unweighted tuning forks are also struck, but instead of placing them directly on your body, they are passed over your chakra areas.
  • Different tuning forks vibrate at different frequencies. Make sure you’re using the right tuning fork set and fork therapy for your specific issue.
  • If you want to get rid of lower vibrations that no longer serve you, you’re better off using a weighted tuning fork. It works to correct distorted energies, making them coherent.

There are widely used techniques you can adopt when using chakra tuning forks for healing:

1. The Unweighted 174 Hz Tuning Fork

This is the go-to technique to activate the sound healing process. One of the best things about using unweighted tuning forks is that they project the sound more clearly than their weighted counterparts.

Start by activating the unweighted tuning fork by striking it with a mallet and then hovering it above the problematic area of the body without coming into contact with it. Once the sound dies off, repeat the process as often as you like.

2. The Weighted 128 Hz or 136 Hz Tuning Forks

Both these tuning forks are weighted and designed to be used directly on the problematic areas of your body for fork therapy. Activate the 128 Hz or 136 Hz weighted tuning fork and place the vibrating end directly over your body.

You should feel a soothing sensation as the vibrations go in. Reactivate the fork before the vibrations completely fade. Repeat the process as many times as you require.

3. The Weighted 128 Hz and 136 Hz Tuning Forks Simultaneously

In this final technique, you’ll need to use both the 128 Hz and 136 Hz tuning forks simultaneously. Their frequencies are closely spaced. With only a few Hz between them, this makes them dissonant and, therefore, great for releasing any pent-up pain or energy.

Start by activating both weighted forks simultaneously to make sure they’re vibrating at the same time. Then, while holding both weighted forks close together, position them above the problematic area of the body without coming into contact with them. You will feel the vibrations from both forks going into your body. As they start dying off, repeat the process as often as you like.

Bottom Line

The benefits of tuning fork therapy for chakra are infinite. The more you use your chakra set, the more usefulness you’ll derive from them. It might be the missing piece to your overall health and well-being.
